To confirm that the first real victims of the expected virus H5N1 are about 10 million chicks for which you had to predict a decline in demand, the LAV is recalled that the Decree Law 333/98 regulates its disposal "in order to spare animals excitement, pain or unnecessary suffering" (Art. 3), or, in accordance with Annex G of the Decree, here described the terrible killing of chicks in excess: "1) use of a mechanical apparatus causing rapid death: - a) the animals must be killed by a device equipped with blades rapid rotation or expanded polystyrene, - b) the ability of the device must be such that all animals, though numerous, are killed immediately. 2) Exposure to carbon dioxide: - a) the animals must be placed in an atmosphere with the maximum possible concentration of carbon dioxide from a source of carbon dioxide concentration of 100%, - b) the animals must remain in this atmosphere until they are dead.
